Nigerian Police Arrests 3 Suspects in Kano for Allegedly Killing 27-Year-Old Student


The Kano Police Command on Monday says it has arrested three suspects for allegedly killing a student of Federal University of Education, Kano. The command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Magaji Majiya, disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the development.

According to Majiya, the late student, Bashir Shehu, age 27, was on group discussion with his colleagues at Rumfa College, Kano, on Thursday, when a gang of notorious youths (Yan daba) attacked them with dangerous weapons.

``They inflicted various degrees of injuries on his head, chest and all over his body. They also broke his leg and abandoned him in pool of blood where he was later confirmed dead,” he said.
``The gang further went on rampage and attacked a mechanic workshop at Gandun Albasa and damaged 30 vehicles,” the police spokes person said.

He said the suspects confessed their offence and mentioned 13 other members of the gang who carried out the attack. The command said it had declared the other suspects wanted, advising the public to disclose their where about.

The police also enjoined the people of Kano to pray for peace and progress in the state and the country at large.
