Boko Haram Raids Borno Villages - 12 Killed


At least 12 people were reported killed when Boko Haram insurgents raided Damasak and Ngamdu towns in Borno State, military and vigilante sources told Reuters news agency.

According to sources, they (Boko Haram) first attacked Damasak in Toyota Hilux and motorcycles, set houses on fire “but all the residents have fled the town since last weekend when troops from the multi-national joint taskforce (MNJTF) were withdrawing to Niger,” the sources said.



Also confirming the incident to Hausa service of the BBC, a lawmaker representing Kaga, Gubio and Magumeri, Hon. Mohammed Sandaya said that the second attack occurred at the hamlet of Warsala, on the outskirts of Ngamdu, a border town between Yobe and Borno states. The attack had thrown residents of the border towns into fear.
