300 Boko Haram Insurgents Surrender in Cameroon


A total of 300 Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly surrendered in Cameroon over the past three weeks.

Cameroon’s defense ministry revealed the news, stating that after surrendering, the insurgents requested for asylum in the country, Vanguard reports.

The Cameroonian military is also said to have captured one of Boko Haram’s top commanders, Abakar Ali a.k.a “Mustapher Umar, ” who was in possession of a large volume of arms and ammunition including: 14 rifles, 24 rockets, 5 machine guns, 28 rocket launcher chargers, 60 Kalashnikovs magazines, etc.
The country’s military is set to share intelligence gathered from Ali with the Nigerian military.
