Gunmen Free Over 100 Inmates from Kogi Prison


Gunmen have reportedly freed over 100 inmates from Kogi State Prison.

International Business Times reports that the incident occurred on Sunday when the gunmen, who are suspected to be Boko Haram members, blew open the cells with dynamites.

An eyewitness is said to have stated that heavy gun fire was hear during the jail-break, and that one person died and two were injured.

There are varying accounts of exactly how many prisoners escaped. Some reports state that 144 escaped, while others say it was 132.
